Andy
Guard in Sri Lanka |
|
Having
raised 2000 pounds each, which for me included both
a monetary and kit donation from St Albans City
Youth (for whom I played for 10 years), the ultimate
aim of the project was to introduce Sri Lankans of
all ages to new sports and activities that they do
not have the opportunity to engage in with the help
of sports equipment brought with us from the UK to
then be left in the communities.

Charter
Standard Community Club
Status Renewed |
|
St
Albans City Youth Football Club is pleased to announce
that the Football Association has renewed is
accreditation as a Charter Standard Community Club, the
only one currently in St Albans.
City Youth which runs over 40 teams for Boys, Girls and
Disability provides over 60,000 hours of sporting
activities for the youth in the City every season, plus
many thousands more hours coaching in Schools around the
district, with the David Beckham Academy and the many
football festivals the club run from its base at
Highfield Park.
The club has also received messages of support from Anne
Main MP and Cllr Roma Mills PPC praising the work the
club does for the community in St Albans.
Although the club is based at Highfield Park it still
has to use a number of other facilities around the
district and due to the ever growing number of teams and
youngsters who just come to training the club is
urgently looking for additional small sided grass
pitches for next season. |
