The victorious Under 13's West

The Under 13's West playing against Alexandra Park, lifted the Spring Trophy, against lively opposition with a score of 1-0.

Alexandra Park started the better, hitting the City upright with a glancing header in the first 2 mins of the game.

City worked hard to get back into the game, and the only goal of the game, was scored by Ben White, beating the keeper, with a volley from 25 yards in the tenth minute.

Both teams started to settle down to playing some good football, and Alexandra was denied an equaliser when Matt Bennett in goal for city, pushed a low drive onto the foot of the post.

As the half went on, 2 goaline clearances from Arron Shaw and Stelios Iasonas, kept City’s lead intact.

Alexandra were the better team in the first half, chasing the game, with City getting the all important goal. Halftime score 1-0 to City.

St.Albans defended their slender 1-0 throughout the second half, with a fine defensive team display, soaking up the pressure, and wearing their opponents out, then struck on the counter attack, which could have brought at least a couple more goals, in the last 15 minutes.

City finished the game the fitter, which is down to the hard work put into training over the last few months.

This was a solid team performance, displaying character that has built up over the season. WELL DONE BOYS !!!!!!!

It would be unfair to single out any outstanding performances, as each and everyone gave 100%.
