The disability group
spent time in the players changing rooms (there are
4 changing rooms at Wembley) before walking up the
steps to the royal box.

St Albans City Youth review the new Wembley Stadium
Players from St Albans City
Youth were invited to Wembley last Saturday to watch the
England Under 21's play Italy in the first game in the new
Wembley Stadium. They booked a coach and set off early in the
morning to be able to tour the new stadium and to take in the
atmosphere of the occasion. The game ended in a 3-3 draw with
plenty if incidents including a goal after only 29 seconds.
"You have a better view of the
players on the pitch and the seats are much more comfortable
than those in the old stadium " said Daniel Rogers of the St
Albans Disability Section. "Although there were nearly 60,000
spectators in the stadium the parking and travel has also
improved. We were back to St Albans in 40 minutes after the
game. The only disappointment was the cost of food and drink in
the stadium. For example Hot dogs were £4 and Burgers £5 which
seemed a bit excessive" Daniel commented after the match.
St Albans were invited by The
Football Association in recognition of being a Chartered
Standard club. They are one of only 5 clubs in the County to
achieve the prestigious Chartered Standard Community Club
status. Following this success and a invitation to watch Fulham
FC at Craven Cottage on new years day the club are planning a
number of other trip for players in the coming months.
